Hey, I've got nothing else to do right now!

Welcome to the Laid-Off Gourmet, something I mentioned to my husband in jest.
Then I got bored.
So here we are!
I plan to provide cheap and easy meal ideas for those of us between jobs.

We all need good healthy recipes (oh and don't forget tasty), especially since I will soon be looking for a job too.

I applaud you. This thing could go completely viral. It is an idea whose time has come, with a THUD. Having been led to the door myself a month ago, and being no cook, I personally can't help. Under the circumstances, is there a way I can make banana peels edible? What if I'm already out of peanut butter? Can I use them for fuel, maybe?

While I'm sorry you are between jobs, I'm glad you've started this blog. I love "all things food", but still have to cook with 2 picky kids in mind. I look forward to reading/trying some of your ideas!

Happy to find you!! Thanks to Looking for blogs? on the Skinny (cross that one off my list).

I am SO annoyed at the Sun-Sentinel. As if the newspaper itself wasn't bad enough, now they let go of what could have been a huge source of revenue for them. The Skinny was one of their best blogs, and in case the powers that be at the Sentinel haven't noticed the shrinking state of the traditional newspaper industry, blogs are the wave of the future. You are their loss Gail. I hope this blog, and shrinkingsisters, both really take off! Rest assured, they have been added to my RSS reader =)

Good stuff, Gail, as always! I plan to make it a regular stop.
